The WorldSkills London 2011 event will be supported with 24 machines from Mori Seiki's recently launched X Class range.

The WorldSkills London 2011 will take place on 5 – 8 October at the ExCeL in London Docklands. It is the world's largest, international skills competition, where young people from across the globe compete to become the best in their chosen skill. The 41st World Skills competition will welcome talents from over 50 countries across 45 skill categories to compete for the title of 'WorldSkills Champion' - 1,000 competitors are expected from 50 nations competing in 45 skills. WorldSkills London 2011 organisers expect 150,000 visitors during the four-day event. Mori Seiki is supporting this biannual event for the third time, after sponsoring the Worldskills Shizuoka 2007 in Japan and the WordSkills Calgary 2009 in Canada. Mori Seiki will support the event with 24 brand new X Class machines, first brought to market at the end of 2010. The X-Class has evolved from the best selling N Series, which sold 28,000 units, and are described as next-generation premium machines. The machines were designed following feedback from thousands of customers on the N Series, and offer high quality, high precision and high reliability. The NLX2500MC is the new universal lathe with milling specification, and the NVX5100 is the new vertical machining centre, featuring high rigidity and high capacity for cutting. Dr Masahiko Mori, president of Mori Seiki Co said: " We are delighted and honoured to be an official supplier and sponsor for WorldSkills for the third time. We appreciate fully the importance of high skill levels and the benefits of encouraging young people to excel in their chosen field. World Skills London 2011 will provide a springboard for the development of vocational training worldwide, enabling many more people to fulfil their ambitions for a prosperous future."
