Rewarding efforts
An eight-man team from Yamazaki Mazak’s Worcester sheet metal shop will represent Mazak Europe at a ‘Kaizen excellence celebration’ being held at the company’s world headquarters in Oguchi Japan.
Every year teams are invited to submit one of their completed and implemented Kaizen projects for an award that Mazak makes to recognise particular achievement.
This year the award has been made to a team from the sheet metal department, which, applying the Kaizen approach, changed the way in which three-dimensional parts are produced to significantly increase productivity and reduce work in progress.
