Reven air filters offer cost benefits for life

Reven machine shop filtration systems are now available from sole UK and Ireland agents, CS Technics Ltd.

Designed in Germany and manufactured in the company's global facilities, they produced in a range of sizes and configurations to suit all machine tool types and manufacturing applications, and are said to offer a number of cost saving benefits that result in "an exceptional return on investment". Reven's filtration systems provide highly efficient separation of airborne contaminants, such as: aerosols (fluid droplets and solid particles in a gaseous environment); mist (fluid droplets generated by supersaturated condensation when the temperature/pressure decreases; vapour (substances that are generated at normal ambient temperatures when the pressure is low); and fine dust (solid particles below 10 µm diameter). The Reven filtration systems use patented X-Cyclone technology to create a vortex to clean the air, resulting in a safer and healthier working environment. Featuring a lifetime warranty, X-Cyclone filters do not require any consumable filter media, such as paper or material cartridges. This significantly reduces the ongoing cost of operation and also means that the units do not suffer the performance drop-off associated with cartridge-based filter systems as they become saturated. Another benefit of the precision controlled airflow vortex is the reduced size and, therefore, operating cost of electric motor required. Compared to cartridge and centrifugal filter systems, significant energy saving can be made, and these are applicable for the whole life of the unit. A smaller motor also makes the filter unit easier to balance than any other design, so it is much quieter in use. And because the particles are removed from the airstream without being trapped by an absorbent media they can be returned to the machine's sump and re-used, reducing the coolant lost from the machining process. Business partners Shaun Fairclough and Chris Watson, explain: "This is an important consideration for companies working towards reducing their carbon footprint and attaining ISO 14001 environmental management certification. In fact, we offer potential customers a free software program that will accurately calculate their return on investment when replacing inefficient systems with improved filtration units from Reven."
