Rainford to highlight new agencies for holemaking, threading and milling at MACH 2014

As a recognised supplier of micro-machining solutions, Rainford Precision will introduce a number of new suppliers on Stand 5219, Hall 5 at MACH 2014 (Birmingham NEC, 7-11 April).

The new agreements centre primarily on holemaking, threading and milling products. For instance, demonstrating what is likely to be the UK's smallest diameter range of drills, Rainford will be showing the Japanese manufactured Iwata Tool drilling line, which offers diameters from 0.008 to 0.100 mm and flute lengths of 3xD, 6xD and 12xD. The Iwata range also includes end mills from 0.008 to 0.100 mm with flute lengths of 2xD, 4xD and 6xD. Complementing the Iwata Tool range at MACH 2014 will be the new Osawa line of drills and milling tools. Osawa gives Rainford customers access to a range of drills from standard HSS and carbide to through coolant drills with diameters from 1 to 30 mm. Some ranges offer 0.05 or 0.10 mm diameter increments. According to Rainford, the diversity of the Osawa line notes a range of drill points. For example, the TA and HTA series drill points are for a variety of materials and applications, while ALH (with its lapped flutes) is specifically for aluminium and SUH is for stainless steel and titanium. End mills and face mills are also available from 1 to 125 mm, along with more application-specific end mills (from 0.2 mm diameter) and coatings for machining graphite and abrasive/hard materials. To complement the increased capability in hole making products, Rainford is also able to offer threading solutions from two different companies at MACH 2014, Japan-based Yamawa and the Swiss company Xactform. Yamawa's expertise in threading is demonstrated by offering 158 different tapping solutions for producing metric threads. These product solutions are deciphered by parameters such as tool material, workpiece material type, roll or standard tap, through or blind hole, and hand or machine taps to name a few. The product range covers all thread-making possibilities from M0.6 up to M36. In instances where tapping is not the threading solution of choice, manufacturers can now acquire a selection of thread mills from Rainford Precision. The partnership with Swiss threading specialist Xactform makes available a line of solid carbide thread mills ranging from M0.5 to M64 with indexable inserts and corresponding toolholders also available. What's more, special thread mills can also be created with either a special thread-form, overall length or extended clearance. Bespoke solutions can be turned around in a lead-time of under two weeks. As well as introducing four new principals and their respective product lines at MACH 2014, Rainford Precision will be aiming to launch other new products at the event from a variety of Swiss cutting tool manufacturers. These new lines are yet to be announced but will include slitting saws, medical industry cutting dies, micro-boring tools, step drills and step reamers. MACH 2014 - Birmingham NEC, 7-11 April
