Rainford Precision Machines is the new UK distributor for Kyocera Micro Tools.

Rainford Precision Machines will be offering, initially, the Kyocera Micro Tools range of micro boring bars and threadmills. The micro precision boring bars have a 3.18 mm overall diameter. The 38 mm long boring bars are available from 0.4 to 1.7 mm diameter, in 0.1 mm increments, with further bars from 2 to 8 mm diameter available, in 0.5 mm increments. The boring bars are produced from ultra wear resistant micrograin carbide and can be used to machine low and high carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, cast iron, aluminium as well as plastics, copper and brass. The threadmills are available from M0.5 to M1.1 in 0.1 mm increments, with M1.2 to M2 available in 0.2 mm increments, and the full range includes a variety of sizes, up to M8. The threadmills are also suitable for UN thread forms. The micro grain carbide threadmills are available uncoated or with an AlTiN coating. The addition of micro precision cutting tools from Kyocera Micro Tools will complement the current Rainford offering of Union Tool cutting tools, and the German produced Kern high precision machining centres. As well as offering the Kyocera Micro Tools range of threadmills and boring bars, Rainford Precision will also be introducing the Kyocera Micro Tools series of tools, for machining ceramics and composites, as well as, offering products for specifically machining dental implants and intraocular lenses.
