Precision ring track system launched at MACH

HepcoMotion, the linear motion specialist, launched the HepcoMotion PRT2 precision ring track system at MACH 2010.

The PRT2 system comprises a comprehensive range of ring slides, ring segments, bearings and ancillary components to suit the majority of rotary and track system applications. It introduces a substantially expanded range of sizes, with the added benefit of across-the-range load capacities being increased by 50 per cent or more, and includes stainless steel availability as standard. "It really struck a chord with so many of our stand visitors and I can honestly say that the majority of them were new to HepcoMotion. That's exactly what we hope to achieve at any show and it's so encouraging that manufacturers are seeking to invest in automation," commented sales manager, John Palmer. "We now have many live projects for this new introduction and they are quite diverse. A typical example is a 3-axis assembly robot where the HepcoMotion ring with gear drive provides an ideal platform on which to mount a robot. The large diameter disc with HepcoMotion bearings gives support of the periphery, ensuring excellent stability and friction free motion." HepcoMotion products are increasingly in demand in assembly-form, as manufacturers search for the most time-efficient solutions for automating processes. This is a significant growth area for HepcoMotion, whose roots are in component supply. "Our MACH visitors were very interested in this aspect of our service and, indeed, many of the PRT2 projects discussed were for sub-assemblies," Mr Palmer concluded.
