Planit’s global support ambition

UK-headquartered manufacturing software specialist Planit intends to be able to offer 24/5 reseller support worldwide within 12 months.

This follows a large investment in CRM software which will provide the foundation for seamless support from globally located support centres around the clock, group director Patrick Love told Machinery at MACH last week. The CRM software saw its first rollout here in the UK just last week, in fact. Planit counts Edgecam, Radan, Alphacam (all CADCAM) and HRS (production management) amongst its manufacturing software offerings. MACH 2008 saw the company underscore a major Edgecam release – 12.5, which is heralded as a comprehensive release of the like not seen previously for this CADCAM product. Sheet metal manufacturing CADCAM/manufacturing management package Radan 8.5 was also present on the Planit stand, it boasting a new, modern interface and highlighting its 3rd party product integration strength. The cross-fertilisation of product capability between sister products within the group was also underlined by Mr Love, with Edgecam pocketing routines transferring to Alphacam, and Alphacam’s UGS integration crossing to Edgecam, for example. The group director also promised that three to four product initiatives would break by the end of this year or early next year.
