Phase Vision recognised for entrepreneurial spirit

Phase Vision, a Leicestershire-based three-dimensional non-contact measurement company, has been recognised as an exemplar innovative company at Connect Midlands 10th Anniversary Awards event.

Connect Midlands is a not-for-profit network that supports technology and high-growth companies. The event took place at the state of the art £50 million International Digital Laboratory facility at the University of Warwick. Since being founded in 2002, Phase Vision has participated in a number of programmes run by Connect Midlands and has secured significant venture capital funding from investors including the Lachesis Fund and Octopus Ventures. The company is a the forefront of developments in white light measurement systems, whose applications range from reverse engineering and first object inspection to real-time process control in production lines, verifying manufactured objects are within agreed dimensional tolerances. Phase Vision scanners are used in sectors including automotive, aerospace, marine and rail. Paul Jenkinson of Connect Midlands explained: "Phase Vision is an excellent example of the type of company which through its innovative approach has been able to gain significant funding for its ongoing research and development work – and to use that to create many high-tech jobs in both R&D and manufacturing. This spirit of entrepreneurship and the commercialisation of innovation are exactly what the Government is seeking."
