Phase Vision at Southern Manufacturing Show

Leicestershire-based Phase Vision will showcase the versatility of the latest three-dimensional white light scanning systems on stand P6 at the Southern Manufacturing Show from 16-17 February 2011 at FIVE in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Originally developed for the purposes of reverse engineering and verification of first-off manufactured products against CAD, the speed with which Phase Vision's scanners are able to accurately measure even large products is creating significant interest from other areas of industry. Among these is product manufacture, where Phase Vision scanners built into production lines can take all necessary measurements within just a few seconds and compare them against CAD. Systems can be programmed to alert operatives if the measured objects are approaching or exceeding pre-agreed tolerances. Ralph Weir, CEO of Phase Vision, commented: "More and more we are being approached by manufacturing companies seeking to optimise their production processes, by increasing efficiency, reducing waste and so maximising output – key factors in the highly competitive manufacturing environment in the UK today. "The fact that our scanners can, within a matter of a few seconds, generate a highly accurate virtual representation of almost any object surface, allows rapid comparisons against the intended design without any interruption or slowing down of the production process."
