Orders for Tornos turning centres at MACH 2010

Tornos UK debuted its new automatic Gamma turning centre at MACH 2010, which is available in three versions to meet the varying needs of the end user.

The machine can produce relatively complex parts at a low capital cost and is particularly suited to the automotive, medical, electronics and general subcontract industries (more information on the Gamma machine can be found in the products section here). Tornos UK's head of subsidiary, Mr John McBride said: "Visitors to our stand were delighted with the new Gamma machine. The Gamma is the only machine in its price range with a Y-axis on both the main and the counter spindle. The Gamma also offers live tooling, two C-axis operation and a magazine barfeed, all in a cost effective package. Visitors to the stand were also keen to learn that the machine can be run with or without a guide bush, enabling users to make potentially massive savings in material costs. Informing stand visitors of these attributes provided an overwhelming amount of interest that resulted in a number of machine orders at the show." The Gamma 20 lies between the Delta and the Sigma machines in the Tornos range for complexity. "Despite not having a Delta machine on the stand, we also managed to achieve orders for the single-spindle sliding headstock lathe that is dedicated to the machining of simple parts. Winning business for a machine that isn't on the stand is a wonderful testament to the renowned quality and capabilities of the Tornos brand. MACH proved a remarkable success for us and the positive feedback and comments will now be used as a platform to continue promoting the cost-effective and highly productive solutions that are available from Tornos," concludes Mr McBride.
