On-machine probing push from Renishaw and Hardinge

1 min read

Renishaw plc and Hardinge Machine Tools are collaborating to promote on-machine probing.

As part of the collaboration, co-branded probing solutions will be available globally to customers purchasing a range of Hardinge-Bridgeport CNC milling machines, including the XP3 range of machining centres. To improve the ease of use for customers of these machines, those selecting machines with Fanuc controls will also be supplied with a graphical user interface (GUI) that will simplify shopfloor programming of probe routines. The probing package available will include a contact tool setting system that supports t tool length and diameter setting, plus the ability to check for tool breakage, and a spindle-mounted touch probe for part set-up and in-process control. The two companies also plan to explore further areas of collaboration to meet the on-machine measurement and process control needs of Hardinge’s expanding customer base, including testing of next-generation Renishaw probe technologies.
