The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) will for the first time host a showcase of its member companies at the Farnborough International Airshow.

The MTA is creating a 'Members' Stand' which will be located in Hall 1 (Stand A20). The MTA stand will feature main exhibits from Dugard, Bott, Star Micronics, Lapmaster, Jones & Shipman, BLM Group and, of course, the MTA itself. The stand will also feature a guest exhibitior - Aeronnova, a Spanish composites company and aerospace specialist, keen to build relationships with UK machine tool companies. A number of other MTA members can be found across the exhibition. "Farnborough is the UK's largest airshow and in 2007 generated over £21 billion of sales for exhibiting companies. In an aerospace market worth £20 billion a year in the UK alone, MTA members play a key part in the industry supplying manufacturing technologies to multi-billion pound global companies, said John Collins, MTA business development manage. Bob Horton, marketing manager of C Dugard, one of the companies exhibiting on the MTA stand, said the company is keen to expand into the UK market: “Farnborough, as the UK’s largest air show provides the ideal platform for us to promote the type of machine tools used around the world to produce aerospace components from small brackets and fittings in difficult to machine materials to undercarriages and wing struts. “While a significant number of UK aerospace companies are using our machines, the UK market is something we are keen to further develop, promoting high technology machines from Korea, Germany, Taiwan and Spain. The event also provides us with the ideal opportunity to maintain contact with a number of our existing customers, who are also exhibiting.”
