Following recent successes after last year’s seminar missions to Russia, the Manufacturing Technologies Association - with the support of UK Trade and Investment – opened a representative office in the World Trade Centre, Ekaterinburg, last month.
Ekaterinburg – ‘capital of the Urals’ - is at the heart of the Urals manufacturing region; it’s within easy reach of Perm, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Samara and Izhevsk – cities that dominate the Russian aerospace, automotive, power and military industries. It has a population of about 1.5 million people and is considered the third major Russian city after Moscow and St. Petersburg. Dr Igor A Bazhenov (49) has been appointed MTA Russia representative office director.
