Mills CNC has officially opened its new 'Customer & Visitor Centre'.
Mills CNC is the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, and the opening was formally presided over by Mr Seung Rok Ma, executive managing director, sales & marketing, Doosan Infracore Machine Tools, on 1 September.
Said Mr Ma: "Mills CNC is a successful company that has built its reputation on providing exemplary customer care and service…and these, in combination with our high-performance, competitively-priced machine tools, are an unbeatable combination.
"Mills is our top-performing distributor in Europe and last year sold over 330 machines into the UK and Irish markets – and unit sales in 2009, despite the global economic slowdown, are strong. Our relationship with Mills has grown significantly over recent years. Their expertise and knowledge of their home markets is vital, not only in terms of sales, but also in helping us develop new products and different and engaging ways of communicating with customers.
"The new 'Customer & Visitor Centre' here at Mills' Leamington facility is truly state-of-the-art and is a perfect environment to showcase and demonstrate our technologies."
The Customer & Visitor Centre is modern and spacious. The ground-floor area houses a wide range of Doosan machine tools, including the recently-launched DNM vertical machines with Heidenhain Controls; the company's training room (where CNC programmer and operator training courses are run); and a café/kitchen area for customers and visitors.
The upstairs 'mezzanine' area has a reception point, numerous meeting rooms, and a conference room which all overlook the ground floor.
Said Nick Frampton, Mills CNC's managing director: "We are delighted that our new Customer & Visitor Centre has been officially opened by Doosan.
"Over the next few months the Centre will be home to a number of new Doosan machines that we'll soon be launching into the UK and Ireland. These will include the new Doosan 5-axis machining centres, as well as a new range of multi-tasking Puma lathes.
"The Centre represents a significant investment for Mills – and all the feedback we've had from partners, suppliers and, of course, our customers suggests that it has been money well spent."
