Merlin Tools catalogue features expanded aluminium range

Merlin Tools has published a 200 page catalogue that includes over 100 new solid carbide tools added to its aluminium range. The catalogue features a dedicated corner radius and corner rounding range, variable helix and high speed machining range, thread mills and ultra high performance drills.
Merlin Tools' dedicated aluminium range now numbers over 300 different part numbers and also includes ball nosed, long reach, reduced shank, two flute corner radius, standard length and long reach as well as its formative range of 55° degree helix, two and three flute cutters.
"We have seen phenomenal growth in this range and our customers can now order these tools as ex stock items, rather than more expensive bespoke specials. This has had a knock on effect in our specials and modifications department which is now able to offer an even quicker turnaround if one of standard tools doesn't suit the customers application," commented sales manager Simon Howse.
Recent additions to the range include a three flute, 55° helix, 3 to 20 mm diameter cutter, complete with 0.5 to 4 mm corner radius, in both standard and long length. Also added are two series of long reach two flute slot drills both in square end and ball nose styles from 6 to 20 mm with overall lengths up to 200 mm.
"With the increased machining of aluminium and requirements for more standard solutions to these applications, these new additions are borne out of extensive trials and discussions with our customer base" explains Mr Howse.
All tools featured in the catalogue are stock items available for immediate despatch.
