Measuring solutions on show at Aero Engineering 2010

Hexagon Metrology will be at Aero Engineering helping customers to fully control their processes with a range of measurement solutions.

On display will be the Leica Absolute Tracker AT901, a portable measurement system that relies on a laser beam to accurately measure and inspect in a spherical volume of up to 160 m. The Leica Absolute Tracker AT901 can gather 3D coordinates in three ways: by following a small mirrored sphere, also known as a reflector; by tracking a Leica T-Probe, a hand-held "walk-around" wireless contact probe; or by tracking a Leica T-Scan, a contactless high-speed laser scanner. For more demanding environments the Leica Absolute Tracker AT401, a portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM), allows extreme precision over ultra large distances, enabled by its own internal battery. Also on show are ROMER measuring arms which utilise absolute encoders to assign an absolute value to each position of the arm. This means initialisation is not necessary, simply switch on and start measuring. A carbon fibre tubular construction ensures stability while maintaining the lowest possible weight.
