Matsuura Machinery Ltd has appointed three new engineers to its Spindle Department.

Paul Godfrey has joined as spindle build engineer and Rhys Buxton has joined as apprentice spindle build engineer. Meanwhile, Sam Clegg has joined as technical support engineer.

Godfrey is an experienced tool fitter and CNC machinist, having served in aerospace and power generation industry sectors.

Buxton undertook his apprenticeship at a precision machining company – studying machining and calibration, and is now working for his BTEC Level 3/NVQ3 in Engineering.

Clegg previously worked as a toolmaker and in machine tool sales and will be office based.

Commenting on the new positions, David Spencer, spindle facility manager, says: “The appointment of these experienced engineers to our spindle department is key to continuing to offer excellent response times and exceed our customers’ expectations. Building work has already begun to extend the floorspace of the department, further enhancing this advanced facility.”

Pictured also is Charlie Bond – spindle build engineer. Although starting with Matsuura a little over a year ago, Bond was already familiar with Matsuura products, coming from the MTC where he worked as a technician in Additive Manufacturing.
