Yamazaki Mazak will exhibit 10 machines at MACH 2014, including new additions to the Integrex i-series of multi-tasking machines and the UK-built VTC 800 series of vertical machining centres on Stand 5410, Hall 5.

The 10 machines, to be displayed under the theme 'make [it] better', are said to offer best-in-class speed, accuracy and machining performance for UK manufacturers. The new Integrex i-100S is the latest variant of Mazak's flagship Integrex range and combines a large machining area with compact ergonomic design and highly accurate performance. The MACH machine is capable of machining both round and square workpieces from raw material in just one set-up, one machine and one operator. It is also equipped with a new Bartac S barfeed system, which offers integrated work unloading and conveyor handling of completed workpieces for lights-out and unmanned running. One of the highlights of the show will be the latest version of the VTC 800 series, a UK-built high capacity simultaneous 5-axis vertical travelling-column machining centre with a high a load capacity and large machining envelope. Alongside will be the Slant Turn Nexus 550, a high rigidity CNC turning centre said to be ideal for heavy duty applications. Capable of efficiently cutting long shaft workpieces, it has a powerful 45 kW spindle motor and maximum torque of 7,000 Nm. Mazak will also be exhibiting its new Horizontal Center Nexus 4000-III, a machine boasting exceptional capacity and the largest axis range in its class. It is said to be capable of outstanding productivity and has a spindle speed range up to 18,000 rpm, combined with a high rigidity main structure design that supports 1 G acceleration. The Optiflex 3015 Fiber II will highlight Mazak's capabilities in sheet metal cutting, with this machine the first fibre laser processing machine to be introduced by the company. It has been specifically designed to cut thin workpieces, eliminating the use of laser gas and reducing electrical power consumption in the oscillator and chiller unit by 80%, while providing faster penetration of thin material. The Optiflex 3015 Fiber II has the potential to increase productivity by more than 30%, it is claimed. In addition to the 10 machines, two more Mazak machines can be viewed at MACH 2014 - an Integrex j-300 will be exhibited on the Mollart stand and a Variaxis i-500, equipped with Siemens Sinumerik 800D sl control, will be on the Siemens stand.
