MACH 2010 - CMZ twin-spindle multi-turret machines on show

CMZ will preview at MACH 2010 a new range of twin-spindle, multi-turret turning machines, to be launched later this year. The TX series offers 3 one-hit mill-turn configurations in both 52 and 65 mm bar sizes.

The configurations are a twin-spindle, twin-turret machine with twelve-station turrets top and bottom; a twin-turret machine with twin top turrets, and a twin-spindle, three-turret machine with two turrets above and one below the spindles. All turrets have Y-axis and driven tooling for maximum mill-turn productivity. As with all CMZ turning machines, the TX series uses the latest generation Fanuc 30 Series control. This advanced CNC makes internal calculations to a resolution of 0.001 µm, ten times finer than previous Fanuc controls, and servo feedback takes just 1 ms instead of 8 ms on the 18 and 21 Series controls. All of which gives shorter axis acceleration times, less mechanical fatigue and further improves surface finish and accuracy. CMZ UK managing director Keith Howell commented: "With the launch of the TX series we can now offer a truly comprehensive range of standard machines. We have over 150 standard models from straightforward 2-axis machines to Y-axis, sub-spindle, driven tooling and gantry loading machines."
