Laser processing venture for Spanish machine tool maker

Spanish firm GNC Correaanayak, the result of the merger in 2005 between Industrias Anayak and Nicolás Correa, has created GNC Láser, a service company for laser technology material processing, together with the Lortek technology centre.

This new firm is located in Itziar, Gipuzkoa (Basque Country) at the Anayak site and commences its activity this month. It will specialise in laser technology material processing for the metal mechanical industry. GNC Láser will give reclaiming and superficial tempering services in moulds and dies, and stamps, in addition to large parts for the capital goods, automotive and aeronautical sectors. GNC Láser is the first firm with this technology operating in Spain and is the European leader, claims GNC Correaanayak. The new company will make investments amounting to €2 million in three years and foresees having a workforce of 40 employees. The Nicolás Correa Group has four milling machine manufacturing production plants (two in Burgos, Castilla y León, one in Itziar and another in China), as well as two auxiliary component plants. With a workforce of 400 employees, it will surpassing €90 million turnover in 2007, and reach €100 million in 2008.
