KMF (Precision Sheet Metal)'s Advanced Products manufacturing facility has seen the recent installation of two Amada HFP 50-20 press brakes prior to its February 2011 opening.

"The new Advanced Products facility is generating a lot of excitement both internally and externally. The delivery of new equipment, such as the two press brakes, is an indication of the level of commitment that is in place to ensure that we are ready to go live in February 2011," says Keith Nicholl, KMF's business improvement manager. The two high specification Amada machines will form part of the sheet metal processing cells within the facility and feature seven CNC axes, infra red angle correction system, off line programming with 3D visualisation software and 1 stroke tooling capability for reduced set-up. These particular machines were specified to better serve the requirements of KMF's existing, and potential, customers in the aerospace, defence, security and medical sectors that will be serviced by the 10,000 ft² Advanced Products facility. "The strategic decision to house the manufacture of components for these industry sectors within this new facility will provide the capacity to expand KMF's business on all fronts. It will create space within the existing manufacturing plant, while developing the type of stand-alone production capability that customers in the aerospace, defence, medical and security industries demand," concluded Mr Nicholl.
