KMF Advanced Manufacturing Solutions, which opened in March 2011, is enabling the company to bring a new approach and manufacturing systems to the aerospace sector. "The investment in KMF Advanced Manufacturing Solutions was the first step to open up many more opportunities by being able to provide dedicated manufacturing capacity for high value added production across many industry sectors. Now, with the move to gain SC21 approval we are further qualifying the commitment we are making to this side of our business." Graham Jackson has been appointed business development manager with specific focus on the aerospace and defence markets. He has long experience working with leading aerospace and defence companies, including Airbus, Boeing, BAE Systems and Ferranti. Mr Jackson commented: "KMF's desire to move into new strategic markets, especially high-end, high-value, component and assembly work is backed by its confidence to invest in the people, equipment and facilities needed to meet the strict criteria set down by these customers. A major advantage with KMF is that the company is bringing a more commercial and driven response to the needs of these markets and is not encumbered by historical baggage, which will allow fresh ideas and solutions to flourish and I am finding that customers see this as a refreshing change."
