Kaltenbach begins cooperation with RSA and Zeman

German saw manufacturer Kaltenbach has begun cooperating with machine tool manufacturers Zeman of Austria and RSA of Germany to offer a wider range of steel cutting and processing equipment.

In the UK, Kaltenbach (of Bedford) and RSA (of Teford) are working together to promote, in particular, a range of circular sawing and deburring systems. This includes RSA’s Haeberle pull-down saws, Kaltenbach’s semi- and fully-automatic machinery and RSA billet and tube processing lines, including its tube deburring equipment.

RSA’s newest cutting system is the RASACUT SH, for the steel service centre and other high-volume production industries. RASACUT 150-2 can cut twinned solid materials and tubes up to 101.6 mm and single items up to 150 mm. For example, at a Kaltenbach Open House in June, the machine was demonstrated cutting two 100 mm-diameter solid ST-52 steel bars in 12 seconds.

Through the new collaboration, UK Kaltenbach customers will have access to the Zeman Steel Beam Assembler range of machines that help increase productivity when assembling components for fabrication. They use robotics for welding and assembly. The top-of-the-range system is able to automatically scan, pick and re-orientate fittings from a layout area to a welding area where they are attached using tack-welding and final welding.

Other Zeman machines manufacture purlins and a proprietary low-weight steel beam design called SinBeam.

Kaltenbach Ltd also represents Zinser for steel plate profiling machinery and Stierli-Bieger for profile bending, straightening and rotation. It is now planning to show off the complete offering, including that of partners, at Mach 2016 in April.

Kaltenbach Ltd recently relocated to modern premises in Bedford (3 Caxton Park, Caxton Road, MK41 0TY), offering spares and consumables warehouse and centralised technical services team now offering ticket-based support.
