Rodmatic's global sourcing initiative has moved forward with the appointment of Rohit Mittal, a highly qualified Indian graduate, now based at the company's Reading production facility.
The initiative aims to help companies that do not have the in-house resource, capability or expertise to properly research, analyse, implement, manage and monitor an off-shore supply operation.
Mr Mittal 23, is engaged in two projects at Rodmatic's Reading facility and is investigating the creation of a web-based contract review and customer interface system, as part of the company's global sourcing strategy.
Prior to joining Rodmatic, he studied for four years at Ghaziabad College of Engineering in Delhi gaining a Major in Production and Industrial Engineering. This was followed by an internship at Ruhr Universitaet Bochum in Germany and six months as a quality management engineer at ThyssenKrupp Nirosta.
He was recruited under the UK India Graduate Work Experience Programme, a source that brings together UK employers and India's top graduates as part of a salaried internship.
As well as gaining UK production expertise within Rodmatic, Mr Mittal will play a key role in the logistics and on-going project support around the company's global sourcing initiative.
Rodmatic is one of some 20 of the leading manufacturing companies based in the UK that have taken part in the work experience programme for 2010.
