Heidenhain to show encoders at MACH 2010

As well as the supply of CNC systems, Heidenhain also supplies a range of high accuracy, angular, linear and rotary encoders, and examples of these will be on display an stand 5110, at MACH 2010.

Sealed linear encoders are available with full-size scale housings for high resistance to vibration up to measuring lengths of 30 m, and as slimline versions, where installation space is limited, for measuring lengths up to 2,040 mm. The RON and ROD sealed angle encoders being displayed are used in applications such as NC rotary tables, machine tool swivel heads, dividing apparatus, high-precision angle measuring tables, precision devices in angular metrology, antennas and telescopes. Also on show, Heidenhain's LIDA exposed linear encoders operate with no mechanical contact between the scanning head and the scale or scale tape, and typical areas of application include measuring machines, comparators and other precision devices in linear metrology. As well as ERA ring encoders, the Heidenhain (GB) display will also feature encoders with Functional Safety, where a safety-related position measuring system can be used as a single-encoder system in conjunction with a 'safe' control. There will also be a range of ND display units for simple DRO, metrology and gauging applications, as well as, ST gauges and the new ACANTO absolute digital length gauge.
