Grinding machines from Jones & Shipman will be on stand 5477, at MACH 2010, alongside Hardinge lathes and Bridgeport machining centres making their world premieres.

A display of 9 machines under power includes the Hardinge GS51A a compact, 3-axis production cell with a 10 platen patented modular magazine and collet-ready spindle, priced at under £80,000. The RS range of turning centres is represented by the RS65MSY turning centre with linear scale positioning, giving a continuous machining accuracy within 5 µm. The Bridgeport 5-axis GX250AX, is a compact vertical spindle machining centre (VMC) with a component capacity of 250 mm diameter by 240 mm length. The machine also has an optional 20,000 rpm high speed spindle. The XR 600 5AX bridge-style VMC has a X-axis of 885 mm, Y-axis of 800 mm and Z-axis of 500 mm, with - 30º to + 120º in A-axis and a full C-axis. The maximum swing is 600 mm and a workpiece height of 450 mm can be accommodated, with component weights up to 300 kg. The Bridgeport XR1000 is a heavy duty VMC featuring an 18,000 rpm HSK A63 spindle able to support high torque options. The machine has 30 tool positions, Y and Z travels of 610 mm and an X-axis travel of 1,020 mm. While rhe Bridgeport GX 480 is a compact 480 by 400 by 330 mm capacity VMC Jones & Shipman are represented by Suprema cylindrical grinding machines and Techmaster easy surface grinders with table capacities from 200 by 500 mm to 600 by 1,200 mm Also being exhibited is the Kellenberger Kel-Vista CNC cylindrical grinding machine with the new 'Kel-Portal' auto loading system to enable changeovers in under 15 minutes. There will also be demonstrations of the Hardinge workholding and rotary products.
