Guy Newton, previously Ellesco's general manager, has been promoted to the position of managing director.

This move, says the company "will enable Newton to continue his vision of modernisation, streamlining and business growth for the Christchurch business". This will allow business owner Vincent Simonis more freedom and time to develop the robotic, subcontract and consumable divisions of the company, while also reviewing opportunities for expanding into new facilities and setting up a dedicated Timesavers' demonstration suite. As the UK dealers for leading deburring and surface finishing machine tools such as Timesavers, Kuhlmeyer, Autopulit and Sugino, Ellesco has implemented numerous new systems to enhance the sales and service operation since the appointment of Newton as general manager in 2013. Commenting upon the new posting, Newton says: "By supporting Vincent in his vision to explore new avenues, while implementing new technologies and methods, we have witnessed considerable growth in all aspects of the business through 2013-14. "Our new and refurbished machine sales have increased and our consumable business is exponentially expanding, which is no surprise with over 2,500 machine installations in the UK. Our aim for 2014 is to take Ellesco from a 14-employee business to upwards of 20 staff. This increase, in staff, in both sales and servicing departments, will enable us to sustainably grow the business, while maintaining our outstanding reputation for service and support."
