GTMA moves to the heart of manufacturing and closer to its members

The GTMA will relocate to purpose-built offices and business conference suites within The National Metalforming Centre in West Bromwich on 1st March 2011.

The GTMA's new head office location, with easy access to the motorway, puts the association geographically closer to many of its members. The purpose-built centre for trade associations offers greatly improved business facilities, with AV equipped meeting rooms and conference suites available to the membership. Chief executive Julia Moore explains: "Our previous facilities often fell short of the needs of the membership. Not only will this move address their requirements but it will provide additional opportunities for GTMA to support their businesses, with GTMA staff having more time to focus on identifying and enhancing potential business development opportunities. The Midlands is rightly labelled the heart of manufacturing and engineering, and this positive move will, I am sure, provide increased opportunities for the GTMA supply chain of member companies." Locating with a number of leading trade associations will bring many benefits for the association and also for the Manufacturing Resource Centre that it operates for its members and commercial partners. "On just one site will reside a wealth of engineering disciplines with a vast pool of knowledge, providing collaborative opportunities and a collective strength that can only add positive weight to any action initiated by the GTMA," added Ms Moore. The National Metalforming Centre houses six other engineering trade associations and it is the headquarters of the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM) which was formed from the British Industrial Fasteners Federation, British Forging Industry Association and the British Metal Trades Association in 1999.
