The vertical machining centres, from Ward CNC, being shown at MACH 2010 will be the Hyundai-Kia Hi-V50D CNC machining centre, the Hartford Blockbuster Pro-3210 double-column vertical CNC machining centre, the Hartford Tornado HCMC-13 heavy duty vertical CNC machining centre and the Hartford Power Centre Pro-1000 vertical CNC machining centre.

The Hyundai-Kia Hi-V50D twin pallet dual table machining centre has a 40 m/min rapid traverse rates in X and Z axes. The machine's 600 mm by 500 mm table is complemented by X, Y and Z-axis travels of 600 mm by 460 mm by 570 mm, respectively. The Hartford Blockbuster Pro-3210 double-column vertical machining centre has a 3,150 mm by 2,040 mm table, able to accommodate loads of 6,000 kgs. Respective X, Y and Z-axis travels are 3,050 mm by 2,100 mm by 780 mm and feed rates in all axes are 7,000 mm/min, with rapid traverse rate of 12 m/min. Speeds of 6,000 rpm are available via the 22 kW spindle. With a table of 1,450 mm by 800 mm for workpieces weighing up to 1,600 kgs, the Hartford Tornado HCMC-13 heavy duty vertical machining centre will be demonstrated under power and cutting. The machining centre has travels of 1,300 mm X-axis by 800 Y-axis by 660 mm Z-axis. Rapid traverse rate is 16 m/min, with cutting feed rate of 10,000 mm/min, via the 4,000 (6,000/10,000) rpm, 15/26 kW spindle. Also under power and cutting, the Hartford Power Centre Pro-1000 vertical machining centre offers respective X, Y and Z-axis travels of 1,000 mm by 600 mm by 630 mm, with a 1,150 mm by 600 mm table that can handle loads up to 700 kg. The rapid traverse rate is 24 m/min, with a cutting feed rate of 12,000 mm/min and speeds of 6,000 rpm from the 12.5 kW motor. [Products covered: CNC machining centres, vertical machining centres]
