Toshido Furukawa, founder and president of Sodick, recently visited the newly extended Sodi-Tech EDM site at Coventry.

Mr Furukawa (picture, right) congratulated Peter Capp (picture, left), managing director Sodi-Tech EDM and president Sodick Hightech Europe, and his team on the opening of the extended facilities. Located in Coventry, Sodi-Tech EDM is the exclusive distributor of Sodick wire-cut and sink EDM products in the UK. The company, which was established in 1991, employs a specialist team of application engineers to support clients throughout the UK and Ireland. In addition to Sodick EDM machines, the complete range of original Sodick spare parts and consumables is available through Sodick’s joint venture company in the UK, KHS Europe, which is located in the same premises as Sodi-Tech EDM. Peter Capp commented: “With the opening of its new factory in China earlier this year, Sodick is ramping up production to 5,000 machines/year – making it the world’s largest manufacturer of precision EDM machine tools, and proving its confidence in the long-term future of manufacturing. A belief that we in the Midlands strongly share.”
