ETG Workholding is a new division within the Engineering Technology Group that offers thousands of specialist metalcutting related products, alongside a bespoke fixturing design and manufacturing capability delivered by the group's Hyfore operation.

The all new ETG Workholding web site (www.ETGworkholding.com) has over 100,000 individual products, covering the spectrum from collets and workholding accessories to precision engineering equipment such as probing and quality control products, as well as everyday leading brand consumables.

Located at the same Coventry premises as Hyfore Engineering's design and engineering facilities, ETG Workholding offers a comprehensive bespoke workholding and prototype manufacturing capability from a single source.

Hyfore has specialist expertise in the design and manufacture of high quality, bespoke workholding systems for metalcutting, welding and assembly applications. This includes cubes and tombstone fixtures with hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum and manual clamping, plus zero point fixtures for rapid changeovers and retrofit NC axes.

Additional capabilities include the design and manufacture of bespoke special-purpose machines for the assembly of mechanical components such as bearings, bushes, pins and mechanical seals.

Hyfore's workholding know-how is complemented by a bespoke prototyping, low-volume manufacturing and a component verification service.

ETG Workholding's expertise is based on the proven 'ShopHardinge' model. When ETG took over the sales, service and customer support agreement for Bridgeport and Hardinge machine tools some two years ago, it acquired the UK sales operation known as 'ShopHardinge' – effectively an on-line shop for Hardinge toolholders and a range of third-party products.

"It's a very positive move" explains ETG workholding manager Rob Beckett. "In effect, it means we can significantly broaden the scope of ETG Workholding towards machine tool manufacturers and users beyond Hardinge. Some may have thought that previously we only supplied to Hardinge and Bridgeport users – not actually the case. Now, with the 'ETG Workholding', we can address a much wider audience."
