ETG to host Nakamura technical turning event next month

1 min read

On the 11 July, the Engineering Technology Group (ETG) will host a targeted Nakamura-Tome Technical Day for manufacturers that want to explore industry-leading technology for heavy-duty cutting and multi-turret turning with astounding flexibility, precision and productivity.

As a technical event, attendance will be perfect for both business owners to identify new opportunities as well as shop floor operatives who can investigate the software upgrades and productivity enhancements for existing machine tools.

ETG will showcase the Nakamura WT150II gantry turning centre and demonstrate heavy-duty turning on the Nakamura WT300 turn/mill centre. The Nakamura SC100X2 has been proven to drastically reduce cycle times for manufacturers targeting cycle time reductions.

Alongside these outstanding machines will be an introduction to heimatec and its industry-leading solutions as well as the latest Powerstar transformers that are perfect for manufacturers looking to reduce their environmental impact whilst cutting energy costs.

The event will commence with 10am arrival, registration and coffee with a presentation to introduce the Nakamura, heimatec and Powerstar brands.

Following an introduction to the brands, ETG’s Nakamura-Tome Product Specialist Steve Howes will discuss the advantages of Nakamura-Tome automation on the WT150II Gantry machine as well as heavy-duty cutting on the Nakamura WT300 and then opportunities for cycle time reductions, the Nakamura SC100X2 will demonstrate superimposed machining and will also perform gear machining.

There will also be an introduction to heimatec tooling, the latest new product lines and the synergy with Nakamura-Tome machines. The heimatec introduction will be conducted by Oli Riley from Hyfore Workholding who will be accompanied by special guest Dirk Hund from heimatec. The experts will demonstrate the latest technology in driven tooling, quick change systems and digital tool monitoring in line with Industry 4.0.

Oli will also be discussing the benefits of Powerstar transformers, a great green initiative for your business. These amorphous core transformers are ideal for most new and used machine tools and will save you energy and money.

The insightful presentations will be followed by live demonstrations on the three machines with attendees having an opportunity to discuss the technologies with ETG’s experts. Following the presentations and demonstrations, delegates will have an open forum to ask further questions whilst networking with like-minded engineers in attendance.

The event content will include technologies such as Oscillating cut, Triangle cut, Jump programming and load monitoring of heavy-duty cutting on the Nakamura machines whilst heimatec innovations will include gear hobbing, thread whirling and digital tool monitoring.
