The South Coast company has enjoyed unprecedented growth with its diverse brand portfolio and the new appointments will enable Dugard to bolster its customer sales, service and support in these two key areas.

Liam joined Dugard in March as an area sales manager for the North and his previous experience will serve him well in underpinning the growth of the brand in the area.

Apprenticeship served, Liam vastly expanded his experience with 11 years of machine shop experience on both manual and CNC machines. Following this, Liam moved into technical sales with a leading cutting tool distributor and during this eight-year employment, his enthusiasm and desire to succeed brought numerous promotions.

From 2016 to 2024, Liam progressed from technical sales engineer to product training manager, technical sales manager and finally business development manager. It is this desire, passion and track record in driving business results that will further enhance Dugard’s presence and customer service in the North.

Targeting growth in the South East and Anglia, Dugard welcomes Renny Thomas (pictured below) to the team. Renny has 26 years of machine shop experience before moving into CAD/CAM training and technical support.

From there, Renny spent the last 12 years as an area sales manager with a manufacturer of CNC turning centres. Looking to move to a business with a more diverse and expansive portfolio and a larger sales area were two of the key reasons that Renny joined the growing Dugard family.

Dugard sales director Colin Thomson said: “We are delighted to welcome Liam and Renny to the Dugard team. They both have a proven track record in the industry with a technical understanding and ability to solve problems for customers that will be a genuine asset to Dugard.

"Both have spent several years working with manufacturers in their respective regions, so their local reputations and insight will be a huge benefit for Dugard and manufacturers in the areas.

"Dugard has everything from cost-competitive machine tools and high-end solution-driven machine tools through to sliding head turning centres – the opportunity to service a wide customer base with this exciting and diverse range of machines and the fact that we are a family business was a factor in these excellent engineers wanting to join Dugard.

“We have six machine tool brands that are complemented by extensive automation solutions. With everything from the Dugard cost-competitive range through the robust SMEC series and the Kitamura high-end machining centres, and on to the heavy-duty Ibarmia multi-tasking machines, we have a machining centre to meet the needs of every business. Likewise, we have the most productive sliding head turning centres in the industry with the Hanwha line-up.”
