Doubled throughput for innovative Swiss sheet metalworker

Making the statement at MACH 2008 in Birmingham last week, the company said this expansion will not only come from the expanding markets of China and Russia, but also from existing industrialised markets such as the UK. Underlining this message were five new machines on the company’s MACH stand, including the world launch of the Byvention laser profiler featuring a 4.4 kW powers source - the machine was launched two years ago with a 2.2 kW laser source. One of the Byvention’s most notable feature sees a novel sheet loading system which allows 3 by 1.5 m sheets to be progressively fed to allow a 1.5 by 0.75 m area to be processed at one time. This allows for parts to be more quickly available for follow-on processes. The Byvention was also the first Bystronic machine launched at a non-negotiable world price for machine, delivery, installation, two-year warranty, two-year maintenance agreement and Bysoft programming software. This world price concept has now been extended to the AFM-EP100 press brake, also launched at the show. The 100 tonne unit on display had a bending length of 3,150 mm. The Beyeler Xpert press brake also announced at the show is equipped with “the world’s most comprehensive database” and which supports the “highest repetition accuracy on the market”. The company claims that the machine is “the only press brake that produces zero angle error itself”. Further, it takes just six clicks to get from 3D model to 3D part.
