A new 'Challenge Dormer' hotline (0114 293 3829) will enable companies across the UK to use Dormer's expertise to solve any cutting tool problems they have.
"This initiative, together with the training opportunities we provide, all form part of Dormer's commitment to help engineering companies improve their cutting tool knowledge and use the right tool at the right time," said John O'Donoghue, general manager at the company's Advanced Manufacturing Park location, between Sheffield and Rotherham.
The facility was opened in December 2008 and has since enjoyed high interest, with visitors from Dubai, Jordan, Pakistan and Australia and from blue chip organisations such as Rolls Royce and BAE.
"We're delighted with the amount of interest we have had in our first six months at the Advanced Manufacturing Park," said Mr O'Donoghue.
The has received more than 200 visits to its state-of-the-art training facility in just six months, including local apprentices. "Our training facility and the team here at Dormer offer engineering expertise and pioneering solutions that can benefit our customers, as well as the next generation of engineers," the general manager added.
"We regularly hold training workshops for students and apprentices from all over the UK as we believe it's vital to help nurture their skills to ensure the future remains bright for the engineering industry. We also recognise that these students will one day become the next generation of Production Engineers and these training programmes will help Dormer capitalise when the students become decision makers in industry."
