DMG (UK) Limited has recorded a substantial growth in orders from the Home Counties in the last five months.

Based in Bedfordshire itself, the company has taken more than £4 million of machine tool orders from local manufacturers. Since early November, 30 companies in just four counties have ordered DMG machines and amongst them is Dupaul Engineering. It will be taking delivery of two DMU70eVo 5-axis machining centres adding to its existing DMG machines, making four in total. Erode All is another existing customer, now with seven DMG machines the most recent investment being another vertical machining centre, the DMC1035V. Further Berkshire orders are from Jenkins Engineering Services, Tecform and Instro Precision who have respectively ordered a DMC1035V, a NEF400 and a DMC635V. For Jenkins Engineering this latest purchase represents its fourth DMG installation in as many years. Milton Keynes-based Dowse Engineering is another company with an eye to the future. It has just ordered its second DMG machine, a DMC635V vertical machining centre to join an existing DMU50eVo linear 5-axis machine. Production for the autosport industry is one in which DMG has considerable expertise and this year Renault F1 Team Technical Centre is installing its 19th DMG machine at its Oxfordshire factory. Another motorsport company based in the Home Counties has also just increased it machining capacity with the addition of eight turning and milling machines in December 2006 to complement five existing DMG machines. DMG (UK) will be introducing four new machines to the UK market at its April Open House (see Events). This takes its total of milling machine models to 41 – with more than 100 configurations available – and turning machines to 38 with 110 configurations.
