The Powys Business Awards are designed to showcase the extent of business talent and the quality of companies and individuals present in the region.
“The judges were impressed by the wide variety of businesses that exist within Powys and had a very difficult task shortlisting the finalists. They are looking forward to visiting each of the finalists to unearth the county’s real gems,” said Ceri Stephens, Group Manager of the awards’ organiser, Mid Wales Manufacturing Group (MWMG).
She added: “We are really pleased that entries were strong again this year despite the challenges of the past two years. I would like to thank all the businesses, social enterprises and charities that took the time to enter the award.”
Les Reeves, joint managing director at Dawson Shanahan, said: “As we approach our 80th anniversary in business, we are incredibly proud of all our achievements over the decades and particularly, over the last difficult two years. It’s important to acknowledge and celebrate this. We are a global manufacturer that is very much at the heart of the local Welshpool community.
"From the sponsoring of local clubs and athletes to working with schools and colleges, we harness young engineering talent through our apprenticeship programme and help them grow, which in turn contributes to our success and growth.
He concludes: “Our success is 100% team effort, and we are confident that this is what the judges will see, as we eagerly await the results.”
The awards presentation is on Friday, 7 October at Dering Lines, Brecon, Wales.
