Switzerland's Bystronic and Italy's BLM Group have agreed to collaborate in marketing activities.
Bystronic is a laser and water jet profiling technology specialist, while BLM offers tube processing systems, taking in laser cutting and sawing, and additionally offers sawing systems for bar and section, together with wire bending machinery.
The alliance, which came into effect today, 1 July, does not mean any merging of company marketing activities, but relates solely to marketing materials, such as brochures and websites, and promotion of each other's technology when each is speaking with customers.
Common marketing campaigns and events are not planned, so far, said a company spokesman.
Bystronic, with its headquarters in Niederönz, Switzerland, and subsidiaries in more than 20 countries, achieved translated revenues of around € 500 million last year, and employed a staff of some 1,600 at the end of the commercial year.
BLM Group has 498 employees and in 2008 achieved a turnover of €128 million.
