Aberlink strikes up profitable Russian relationship

Aberlink has installed two Aberlink Axiom Too manual CMMs at Russia's JSC Sterlitamak MTE Company, a machine tool maker based in Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan.

Having purchased the two Aberlink CMMs for their own Quality Control requirements, JSC Sterlitamak MTE is now evaluating the machines as part of a collaboration agreement, which will see it offer Aberlink Axiom Too CMMs to its many machine tool customers. JSC Sterlitamak MTE is confidant of selling more than 100 Aberlink CMMs per year. Aberlink Ltd is now busy translating all of its manuals into Russian and working hard at ensuring their new commercial links become mutually profitable to both parties. Sterlitamak is Bashkortostan's 2nd City and is located some 2 hours flying time east of Moscow. Now employing approx 1,500 people manufacturing a wide range of high quality machine tools, JSC Sterlitamak MTE enjoyed a rich history under the Communist Soviet Union regime. Previously called the Lenin Machine Tool Enterprise, the company was moved from Odessa in the south to Sterlitamak in 1941, to ensure continuity of production during the WW2. At its peak, JSC Sterlitamak MTE employed over 5,000 people.
