Walter extends Capto range for precision boring and counterboring

Walter GB has extended its range of Capto interface spindles with systems for precision boring and counterboring:

Walter Boring twin-insert boring tools come in medium and maxi versions for holes from 20 to 640 mm. The compact system is suitable for symmetrically (Z2) or radially displaced (Z1) roughing operations. It is available with a range of indexable inserts, modular additions (such as aluminium bridges) and extensions. Walter Precision solid carbide and single-insert precision tools are available in mini, medium and maxi versions for holes from 2 to 640 mm diameter. Boring-bar, cartridge or aluminium bridge constructions are used depending on hole dimension. They are also suitable for reverse machining. An opto-electronic encoder provides micron-precise digital results when using PrecisionDigital single-edged precision tools for holes of 3 to 124 mm diameter. Solid-carbide boring bars are suitable for holes up to 10 mm, while bridges are available for very large diameters. The tool can be used at up to 16,000 rpm. All systems feature internal coolant supply.
