United Grinding Group company Walter Ewag UK is marketing the Helitronic Essential as its entry-level machine for 5-axis production and regrinding of tools from 1 to 100 mm diameter and up to 255 mm long.
Targeted at the machining of end mills, drills, step drills, step tools, woodworking tools, profile blades and profile tools, the 9 kW/10,500 rpm machine has a cast iron bed and features digital AC servo motor and absolute encoders.
Its Fanuc CNC system employs Walter's Helitronic Tool Studio software functionality for fast and effective programming.
Options include manual tool supports such as steady rest and tailstock for the precise grinding of long tools.
