Theorem releases latest Publish 3D

Theorem Solutions has unveiled the latest CATIA 3DExperience to 3D PDF solution from its Publish 3D range of products. V21.3 supports CATIA 3DExperience 2016x, 2017x and 2018x.

3D PDF publisher offers a 3D PDF publishing solution, enabling users to share engineering data created in CATIA 3DExperience with departments which do not have CATIA 3DExperience, but need access to a 3D representation.

Since 3D PDF is 3D content in a standard PDF, it enables companies to create rich documents with 3D CAD data inside, which can be viewed, manipulated and marked up using Adobe’s free reader. What 3D does is remove ambiguity when reviewing product data, says Theorem.

Features and enhancements in V21.3 include the addition of face/solid/part/instance transparency, which maintains the display in the translated file to give an accurate representation of the original data. There is also newly developed functionality for points grouping, which allows grouped points to be broken down into individual point nodes in the assembly, rather than a single node containing all points. This function is necessary if individual point data needs to be selected, such as for the location of weld positions.

Further improvements include the addition of display transparency in the translated file, maintaining an accurate representation of the original data. In addition, there is newly created functionality for points grouping into individual nodes in an assembly, rather than a single node containing all points, giving the user the ability to select individual point data.

Theorem’s Publish 3D product supports the publishing of model-based definition (MBD) and PMI data that contains the necessary information to manufacture and inspect products, without the need for 2D engineering drawings.

Using 3D PDF ensures the control and protection of IP contained within the document. Passwords and document rights access can be added to the 3D PDF, while different levels of control can be created for different users. This functionality maintains the integrity of information and allows only authorised people to access the data.

Being lightweight, 3D PDF is suitable for effective collaboration, while maintaining the original 3D geometry and product information.
