Excetek V400G wire EDM unveiled by Warwick Machine Tools

The Excetek V400G from Warwick Machine Tools has greater X- and Y-axis travels compared to its predecessor (the V350G), increasing to 400 by 350 mm from the previous 350 by 250 mm. At the same time, this newly developed wire EDM is capable of accommodating larger workpieces measuring up to 750 by 550 by 215 mm (weighing up to 500 kg) with just a few millimetres increase in overall footprint.

The V400G features a honeycomb frame structure for rigidity and thermal stability, while the AC servomotor-driven C1 class ballscrews are cryogenically treated to minimise the thermal effects of the machine’s environment.

Optional extras include remote monitoring via SMS, which will automatically send an alarm message to a mobile phone, if the machine stops. Wire diameters from 0.15 to 0.3 mm can be used and, for extended operation, a 50 kg wire feeder can be fitted.
