Excetek R2000 wire EDM from WMT suits turbine parts

Designed for the production of ringed turbine blade holders, the Excetek R2000 wire cut EDM available from Warwick Machine Tools (WMT) is of key interest to aero engine component manufacturers and the power generation industry.

Able to accommodate rings with an outside diameter of between 600 and 2,200 mm with a wall thickness of up to 150 mm, the R2000 can process workpieces up to 300 kg. Submerged wire cutting is carried out in the 800 litre work tank, with XYZ axis travels of 200 x 300 x 220 mm. U and V axis travels are 80 mm, offering a maximum cutting taper angle of ±20o. With twin support spars to hold the ring material securely, the R2000 has a wire feed head designed to provide clear access to the inside ring diameter so that any blade location features or cooling feed-ways can be machined.
