2D CNC unveils Wele AQ850 small VMC

Developed for machining light alloys and aluminium materials, the smallest vertical machining centre in the Wele AQ50 series – the AQ850 – can be specified with a range of spindles in addition to the standard 15,000 rpm unit, linear scales, a fourth axis, a choice of tool magazines and either Fanuc or Heidenhain controls. It is available in the UK from sole agent, 2D CNC.

The Wele AQ850 offers axis travels of 800 mm in X, and 510 mm in both Y and Z. Rapid travels are 48 m/min in X and Y, and 36 m/min in Z. There is also a Z-axis option of 710 mm, while the machine has a 1,000 by 510 mm table. A 10 kW, 15,000 rpm direct drive BT40 spindle is standard with a further choices of a 7.5 kW spindle giving 12,000 rpm, a geared head delivering 8,000 rpm and a belt-driven 10,000 rpm unit.
