2D CNC introduces Wele AA90 VMCs
Developed for general purpose applications when heavy cutting is the order of the day, the largest AA90 series of three vertical spindle machining centres in the Wele range is launched in the UK by 2D CNC Machinery. The machines have X-axis travels of 1,800 mm on the AA1890, 2,000 mm on the AA2090 and 2,500 mm on the AA2590. Across the range, both the Y- and Z-axis travels are 900 mm.
Significant in the design of the AA series are four hardened and ground boxways with roller guideways on the Y-axis to provide full support for cycles needing both power and accuracy. The specification also includes:
• Geared BT50 spindle powered by an 18.5 kW, 469 Nm, 6,000 rpm motor
• 30 tool magazine
• 18 m/min rapid traverse in X and Y (15 m/min in Z)
• ±0.005 mm accuracy per 300 mm of stroke
• Repeatability of ±0.003 mm
