XYZ Machine Tools has announced the appointment of John Aspinall to the role of education sales manager.

He will initially be working alongside Kerry Kidd prior to Kerry's retirement at the end of the year, after 25 years at XYZ. "Kerry has laid some strong foundations in the education sector and, it is my challenge to take that on and build on them."

His job is to make XYZ Machine Tools the first port of call for schools, colleges, UTCs and engineering training establishments, such as members of group training associations. "These organisations are looking to invest in not only quality machine tools to meet their training requirements, but also the support and service that XYZ offers through its education partnership scheme," says John Aspinall.

After several years of shopfloor experience, Aspinall moved into sales of workholding equipment and machine tools.

"My challenge is to continue to be proactive in finding the right people at the right time to highlight how XYZ can help educators develop their training strategies through long-term partnerships, using equipment that students will go on using when they return to their employers once their training is complete," Aspinall concludes.
