The Engineering Technology Group (ETG) is taking its "unique sales and lifetime support philosophy" to customers based in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic, opening a new custom-built administration centre and showroom in Newbridge, Co. Kildlaire

A wholly owned subsidiary of the Southam, Warwickshire based parent company, ETG Ireland will be led by James (Jamie) Fletchmoore, a well-known figure across manufacturing in Ireland who has established a strong reputation for sales and support of Mastercam NC programming software in both countries through his company JCNC Ltd. He is supported by applications engineer Jason Bramble and internal sales co-ordinator Trina Sourke, with a fully qualified service engineer currently been recruited. "This operation is different in that we will be representing the leading ETG brand names directly as a fully integrated machine tool supplier, not an agency, which is normally the case in Ireland," explains Mr Fletchmoore: "Customers will therefore receive not only the benefit of our on-the-ground expertise, but also the full support of the team in Southam where over 100 people are dedicated to customer service and technical support. "Further, the portfolio of brand names - Chiron, Nakamura-Tome, Hardinge Bridgeport, Feeler, Quaser, Stama, Handtmann and Hyfore - is so comprehensive, there is virtually no application that we cannot address. Customers will also benefit from access to ETG's finance solutions team who can develop the best finance option for the purchase of a machine or machines. "We aim to demonstrate up to half a dozen machines – all to be fully operational - in the showroom, which will also give us the opportunity to network them with FactoryWhizz, another unique ETG product. "And because we are continuing with our exclusive representation of Mastercam, again we are unique in that we are an integrated machine tool supplier that also offers a leading CAD/CAM design and manufacturing package," he concludes. The Engineering Technology Group claims to be unique in that it brings a new way of thinking to the machine tool market. Each member of the group operates as an individual business, offering the in-depth product knowledge customers would expect from a specialist supplier, but further benefits from a core organisation that provides the central resources, expertise and services that a large company can provide. Explains ETG managing director John Temple: "All the signs are that manufacturing activity in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic are returning to good health and that creates a positive environment for ETG to establish a strong foothold in both countries. "We have assembled a strong team to project this operation forward and I believe it is only a matter of time before it will be a major presence supplying machine tools and a range of services to manufacturing industry across Ireland."
