Rippleffect initiative could save 30 per cent on water bills

The Rippleffect is a free initiative from WRAP aiming to help businesses achieve around 30 per cent savings on water and sewerage bills through more efficient water usage.

The initiative is delivered in three monthly online training modules, backed by webcasts, telephone support and in-depth publications. The three modules are: data collection, to understand how much water a company uses; action plan development, identifying simple ways to start saving water and money; and implementation, measuring the water and cost savings of the implemented plan. Each module will provide the information and tools a company will need in order to make effective water and cost savings. Commenting on the scheme Ian Rawcliffe, from Pincroft Dyeing & Printing Co, said: "The Rippleffect has given us the tools and resources to make significant savings for our organisation. The programme gave us a structured plan, which opened up many other business and environmental benefits previously overlooked." The closing date to register for the Rippleffect scheme is 15 October 2010. WRAP also have a free Rethink Waste initiative, support by the manufacturers' organisation EEF, to help manufacturers reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and save money. Manufacturers taking action to reduce waste and improve their resource efficiency can expect to save up to £1,000 per employee.
