Mann & Hummel EDM filters boast 30 per cent longer life

Mann & Hummel EDM filters for Japanese and European EDM machines claim up to 30 per cent longer service life in comparison to conventional filters, and clean dielectric fluid right from the start. This is possible through the use of a new synthetic media and a triple progressive bellows design in the filter.

The plastic design is eco-friendly and easy to handle. The plastic material and media maintain stable conductance values of the dielectric fluid and therefore lengthen the service life of the resin cartridges. The media filters with a fineness of 1 to 2 µm. The filter uses a synthetic media and has a triple progressive bellows design. This enables the filter element to perfectly fill out the installation space of the filter housing and provide a large filter surface area. This enables use of the entire surface of the progressive pleating to hold dirt. Adhesive lines stabilise the bellows. The combination of the progressive pleating, filter surface area and synthetic media allow for a high dirt holding capacity and therefore for a long service life. The product is also available as a stand-alone solution. Connection adapters for various machine types are included in delivery. These adapters ease the connection of the filter to the respective machine. A further variation of the filter as an insertion element will follow.
